Antigua, Guatemala

Light

Lamps I saw in Guatemala that I thought each had their own character. All these are taken in the day time. I imagine when they were lit they were more beautiful.

Looking in

The window balconies in Guatemala were tiled with intricate designs. This was the ledge where folks would put there plants and decorations. The adornment outside the houses were so minimal but their windows were not.

Knock Knock

I found the different door knockers in Guatemala to be so special and unique that I had to capture them. These are taken in a couple of places we visited in Guatemala. The wood doors they lived on were quite magnificent as well.

Bhutan: Land of the Thunder Dragon

These are from the DC Folklife Festival which honored the Bhutan culture. Bhutan is the last bastion of Vajrayana Buddhism, a spiritual practice that is known to be one of the most profound schools of teaching in the Buddhist world. I was able to enter their temple and witness prayer and intricate exquisite detail on all walls and ceilings. The food was a dance for the mouth and the people held a stoic presence.
